The evening will feature a cocktail hour, open bar throughout the evening, an Italian multi-course wine pairing dinner prepared by Casa Nuova staff, silent auction, live auction, and entertainment. The mission of Purple Pansies is to raise funds for research, clinical trials, early detection through TGen (Translational Genomics Research Institute) and to aide families in our community who have a family member suffering from pancreatic cancer and financially can use our help. Building Bridges We are on a mission this year, to bridge the gaps between: Purple Pansies + Our Community We have been reaching out to local schools to have younger members of the community volunteer or intern and engage them in the joy of philanthropy. We are proud to have awarded 7 Purple Pansies scholarships this year, to children with a family member affected by pancreatic cancer. Treatments + Patients We are happy to have connected Piedmont Healthcare with TGen, (Translational Genomics Research Institute). Many patients in Georgia are already able to receive TGen derived therapies. This relationship will bring much needed specialized pancreatic cancer treatments and the latest clinical trials to those in need in our communities. Patients + Grants As much as we work to support much needed research to fight this brutal disease, we also strongly believe in a practical, personal, ‘hands on’ approach, to tackling immediate need. We provide emergency grants to those within the community who have exhausted their treatment funds and provide them with access to more affordable, much needed medications.

The interactive workshop is perfect for parents of pre-teens, teens, and young adults. Topics: Understanding the Grade Level Milestones: We will share resources covering the milestones your students can reach for as they move through each school year. You’ll receive a handout that will serve as a guide for both you and your student as they move closer to graduation. Helping Teens Stay Organized: Kids are glued to their phones anyway so why not take advantage of that? We’ll be sharing Apps and tools to teach your teen ways to organize their schedule, and schoolwork right on their own phones. Keeping the Teen / Parent Communication Lines Open: With the new school, comes a flurry of activity and that can put on a strain on communication between you and your teens. You will take away a toolbox of tips and tricks for getting and keeping those communication lines open. Helping Your Teen Manage the Stress: The transition into a new school year can be a highly stressful time for both teens and their parents. Between sports, extracurricular activities, and schoolwork, the pressures can be overwhelming. We will be sharing ideas on how to help your teen stay centered and focused as they navigate this transition.
