Preschoolers are invited to Halcyon's Discovery Days Kids Club! Enjoy crafts, activities, animal encounters, walks on the nature trail and so much more each Wednesday in the Village Green at Halcyon. We do require that a parent or guardian stay with each child during the program. Stay after the program and enjoy lunch, snacks or sweet treats at one of our kid-friendly restaurants! The lakes of north Georgia are known for their breathtaking views and fun weekends on the water, but there is often a forgotten history that lurks beneath them. Entire towns have been submerged, sparking the interest of scuba divers, historians, and myth busters. Petersburg, Georgia for example, is now an underwater ghost town after the Army Corps of Engineers flooded more than 72,000 acres to build Thurmond Lake. But what is most fascinating about this underwater ghost town is that it had quite a rich and respectable history. Gwinnett County Public Library, in partnership with the Gwinnett Historical Society, present author and historian Lisa M.
