Today we are highlighting one of our amazing new providers, Haoran Peng. Haoran just started at GI North today and we want to welcome him to the team! After graduating from Guangdong Medical College, Dr. Peng joined the general surgery residency program at Sun Yat-sen University in China. During the surgery residency, he also joined the PhD program to study the tumor suppressior genetic network in hepatocellular carcinoma. Then, he went to Johns Hopkins university to complete his research project. He then relocated to Georgia after obtaining the PhD degree in 2014. He completed the internal medicine residency at Gwinnett Medical Center, then completed Gastroenterology fellowship at Augusta University Medical College of Georgia. He received several awards from ACP, ACG, and ASGE during his training. Dr. Peng is fluent in Cantonese and Mandarin! He is currently accepting new patients. The team recently got together for an informative class from Benjamin Carpenter! They were educated on the proper ways to preclean an endoscope and a colonoscope after a procedure. We would like to thank Boston Scientific for coming out and are looking out to more educational workshops in the future!

Yesterday marked a special occasion as we celebrated the groundbreaking event for GI North's Sugar Hill Clinic! We were honored to have so many amazing guests from the Economic Development of Gwinnett County, Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce, and City of Sugar Hill! The Mayor of Sugar Hill, Brandon Hembree, even came to celebrate! With the unwavering support and enthusiasm of our community, we are excited to embark on this new chapter, bringing advanced healthcare services closer to home. Thank you to everyone who came out and made this event truly special!

Today we are highlighting one of our amazing providers, Raven! Raven Rose, MSPA, PA-C was born into a military family and was raised in Georgia. She moved from Augusta to Dahlonega to play Soccer for the University of North Georgia. After her sophomore year, she moved to Athens and transferred to the University of Georgia to complete her Bachelor of Science in Biology in 2019. After graduation, she worked as a Clinical Technician on the IMCU floor of St. Mary’s Hospital in Athens. In 2021, she moved to Savannah to complete a Masters in Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS) at South University. In 2023, she joined the GI North family. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, playing sports, trying new foods, hiking, and spending time with her friends and family!
