The Minorities Employee Resource Group (ERG) offers a valuable platform for employees from diverse backgrounds to unite and celebrate their various cultures, identities, and perspectives. It simultaneously creates a welcoming environment and allows individuals to connect with colleagues from different areas of the company. Environmental Specialist, Isis Hamilton, believes this kind of networking can foster relationships based on shared interests or goals and facilitate the formation of teams that can offer support and resources to communities. “I discovered a supportive platform for open dialogue on pressing issues, including environmental concerns and workplace inclusivity. Despite my introverted nature and demanding schedule as a single mother, I found solace and renewed confidence through active engagement with like-minded colleagues!” Small but encouraging efforts help Isis feel empowered. Looking forward, she anticipates continued growth and collaboration in the months ahead. #DiversityMonth #DEI #Minorities #StrongerTogether #AmplifyVoices #OneAtlasHeart

The Professionals with Disabilities Employee Resource Group (ERG) champions the cause of raising awareness, fostering inclusion, and providing support for individuals with disabilities. Its main objective is to cultivate an accommodating environment that addresses the unique needs and harnesses the potential of employees with disabilities, alongside their families and colleagues. HR Business Partner, Lori A. Comerford, SHRM-CP, was drawn to the ERG as a means to connect with others who have family members with disabilities. Lori shares a personal connection to the group’s mission through her nephew, who, born with Autism, has thrived in the workforce thanks to early intervention and minor accommodations. “Discovering this ERG was a call to action for me. It has opened doors, forming connections with colleagues I would not have met otherwise and has presented a platform to contribute my professional insights towards meaningful change.” Lori’s participation helps nurture a workplace that values diversity and promotes the exchange of ideas. Through the efforts of dedicated members like Lori, Atlas is advancing towards a workplace that is more inclusive of disabilities. #DiversityMonth #DEI #DisabilityInclusion.#AutismAwareness #AmplifyVoices #OneAtlasHeart

Washington state is home to 219 fish species, adding an exciting layer to the work of Environmental Technician I, Mika Miyamoto, and Environmental Scientist I, Courtney Moulton. Their recent assignment for the State Route (SR) 516 revitalization project was highlighted by the catch of a pumpkinseed sunfish, which wildlife experts consider safe from endangerment. The SR 516 upgrade is set to enhance multimodal access, boost safety, and incorporate environmental considerations from Covington Way Southeast to 168th Place Southeast. In collaboration with the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT), Covington is on track to address the increasing demands of this vital commercial corridor, ensuring smoother transit for its users. Atlas has been tasked with providing comprehensive environmental services and quality testing activities for the project. Mika and Courtney are also part of the Atlas Technical Organization’s NEPA (National Environmental Policy Act) and Environmental Compliance team. 📷 Hannah Carter, Ecologist #WashingtonWildlife #Susbtainability #Environmental #GreenInfrastructure #FishPassage

The Parents and Caregivers Employee Resource Group (ERG) is a community within our organization dedicated to supporting employees who navigate the rewarding, yet challenging, roles of parenting and caregiving every day. Recognizing the significant impact of caregiving responsibilities on work-life balance, this ERG offers a supportive network, resources, and tools tailored for today's diverse families. For Branch Administrator Victoria Poole, joining the ERG has been enlightening. “Whether dealing with new parenthood, caring for an aging relative, or something in between, my involvement has enabled me to meet and forge relationships with colleagues I might not have otherwise. This has fostered a feeling of belonging and connection within the company and among fellow employees.” From navigating parental leave and flexible working arrangements to accessing childcare resources and eldercare support, this ERG aims to empower its members with practical solutions to everyday challenges. #DiversityMonth #DEI #Parents #Caregivers #AmplifyVoices #OneAtlasHeart
