Event Description: Every year in Gwinnett County, there are 3,433 visits to the ER by residents age 55 or older due to falls. This results in about two Emergency Room visits per hour, and the cost to the US just in terms of Medicare is staggering. The National Council on Aging wants you to know: Serious Falls Are Not an Inevitable Part of Aging. Join the Gwinnett County Public Library, in partnership with Gwinnett County Fire and Emergency Services and Gwinnett County Parks and Recreation, for this National Falls Prevention Awareness Day Workshop. Free and open to the public, this class takes place on Friday, September 22 at 10:30 am at the Bethesda Senior Center, 225 Bethesda Church Road, Lawrenceville, GA 30044.
